Rules of Conduct
The Yellow Door is a private gathering dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive, and consensual space for adult play, queer exploration, and responsible kink. Please read and adhere to the following rules and expectations to ensure a positive experience for everyone involved.
During each event we will have at least one designated “lifeguard” who is available to answer any questions or concerns, render emotional or medical assistance, and provide a safe ride home for guests if necessary.
1. Consent Is Mandatory
-Clear Communication: Always communicate clearly and explicitly about your intentions and boundaries. Consent should be informed, enthusiastic, and continuous. It can be withdrawn at any time, and a change in consent must be respected immediately. Don’t proceed if you have any doubts about someone’s ability to give consent.
-Check-Ins: Regularly check in with your partners during play ensure ongoing consent and comfort. Please use clear, easy-to-understand safe-words or verbal signals.
-Do not disturb or interrupt play/scene/interaction in progress unless you have asked permission or been invited to join. Watch from a distance and be respectful of the participants.
2. Respect Privacy and Confidentiality
-Discretion: What happens at the event stays at the event. Do not share details about activities or attendees outside without explicit consent.
-Photography: No photos or recording devices are allowed except for with specified equipment provided by the event coordinators, in a designated area, and with the consent of all parties involved.
3. Inclusivity and Respect
-Diverse Identities: We welcome individuals of all queer identities, expressions, and orientations. Discrimination or harassment based on race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other characteristic will not be tolerated.
-Mindful Interaction: Please be aware of personal biases and engage in self-reflection to foster an inclusive environment. This is a space where we encourage expression and exploration free of judgment. Ask for pronouns; don't assume.
4. Safe Play Guidelines
-Skill Level: Engage in practices and use equipment that match your level of experience.
Seek guidance or supervision from a Lifeguard if trying something new.
-Health and Safety: Inform your play partners of any relevant health issues or concerns that may affect play (e.g., allergies, medical conditions).
-Sober Play: No outside drugs or alcohol are permitted during the event. Avoid substances that impair judgment or consent. Light alcohol will be provided, and Lifeguards will perform wellness checks on any guest who seems unable to consent or communicate.
5. Conflict Resolution
-Immediate Reporting: If you experience or witness any non-consensual activity or boundary violation, report it to a Lifeguard immediately.
-Supportive Response: Lifeguards are committed to addressing concerns swiftly and will work towards a resolution that respects the safety and dignity of all parties.
6. STI Prevention
-STI Checks: We encourage all participants to undergo recent STI checks prior to attending the event to ensure the health and safety of all attendees. Please consider sharing your status with play partners in the spirit of transparency and informed consent.
-Protection Use: Use of condoms, dental dams, and other barriers is strongly recommended to reduce the risk of STI transmission. Free condoms will be provided, but we still encourage guests to bring their own preventative methods.
-Hygiene: Maintain high standards of personal hygiene to further reduce risks. This includes washing hands.
-Ensure that all gear and toys brought to the event are clean and safe for use. Sharing gear and toys is not recommended, but if you choose to do so please only share with explicit consent and proper sanitation.
7. COVID-19 Safety Measures
-Proof of Testing: All attendees must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 48 hours prior to the event. You will need to send proof of your negative test to the event coordinator, or show it at the door. We will not be selling tests, so please plan ahead.
-Vaccination Encouraged: While not mandatory, we strongly encourage all attendees to be fully vaccinated and boosted.
8. Enjoy Yourself
-Positive Atmosphere: Our event is a place for joy, exploration, and community. Engage with respect, keep an open mind, and support others in their kink journey.
-By attending our events, you agree to uphold these standards of behavior and engagement. We look forward to a memorable and exhilarating experience together.
